Everyday Use

The readyting of the story Everyday Use has everything to do with the fleck of the story. The setting of the story is in a house with leash rooms in a pasture with a jacket crown made of tin.  The windows of the house were just holes cut out of the sides and had no definite shape.  Rawhide held the shutters in place from the outside of the house.  The time was set in the 1960s when African Americans were finally standing up for themselves and making a positment about their culture and heritage. This was called the term of the Black Pride Movement.  This encouraged an interest in foul history through, song, dance, art, literature, etc.  It doesnt state a particular state or place except to say it was in the untaught South. The only place mentioned is Augusta Florida where Dee was sent to school, which tells me that wasnt where the family lived. The main participation in this story is which child sop ups the quilt. One child comes kin to visit her mother and sister. Her mother is very proud of this sister because she went to college and has accomplished a lot. The second sister is shy and quiet. She has destroy all over and feels like almost worthless in comparison to her sister. This sister has a very low egoism and feels like she must live in the shadows of her sister.

The two missys desire the quilt and the mother doesnt know who to give it to. She knows the daughter who came to visit wants it to represent her culture but it also is a sign of materialistic. She can hang it up in her freshly apartment since quilts were the popular things to own. This daughter also argues she will raise it to good use and it will always stay in tact. The mother wants the quilt to cover a child and for frequent use. She knows her shy daughter will do just that and gives it to her. The shy daughter would have never thought this would have happened since her sister gets everything she ever dreamed off.
