As a High School student preparing for the SATs, the psyche that was uppermost in my mind was which college I would end up call offing my alma mater. Believe me its not an easy travail reconciling the wish list, which alwaysy student has, with reality, as each college going freshman from a background with limited resources would govern you. The endless hours that I spent surfing the net for the remunerate fit of score, course and tuition finally led to my espousal at NC State University. I was overwhelmed at being true by a university that has been consistently ranked among the nations top 50 public universities and ranked by Princeton Review as a best value for students.
Once the euphoria subsided a dwarfish I shifted my focus to the State and the City which I would call home for the next four years. Much to my delight I found an interesting fact that reaffirmed my belief that I had elect/had been chosen by, the right University.
Did you know that the aphorism of the State is Esse quam videri, which when translated in simple English means, to be rather than to seem to be. It really seems profound when taken in context with todays selling driven world where packaging and advertising seems to dominate the product.



bulk would rather seem to have the right qualities rather than genuinely work hard towards having them. I am sure that this motto applies to the University as well. I am sure it will transfuse in me all the qualities and skills required to survive in the removed world. It will give me a well rounded nurture with an ethical code that will serve me well in the long run.
My first impression of the campus was of space and openness, the red bricks everywhere give it a sense of solid strength. I love the Free expression tunnel. The D.H Hill library was unmatchable of the most awe inspiring sights that I have ever seen.
