Jonas then escapes the city with Gabriel, an infant whom he became attached to during the weeks of his training. Jonas and Gabriel give way the heat and cold during their trek in hopes of reaching Elsewhere, a mysterious place far away from the community. Jonas then finds a bobsled on top of a mountain of coke and climbs aboard with Gabriel. As they slide down the hill, Jonas can function lights in the distance and they sound of music, a first for him.
