He knows this because Goldings a WWII veteran and has witnessed readiness for evil, and Lord of the Flies is an emblem demonstrating Goldings belief in mankinds capacity for evil. In the story, the children crash land on an island, which represents a microcosm of a society at large, with no adult supervision or support. Ultimately, the children are put on a moral riddle to survive amongst each other. Some Characters such as cakehole, Roger, and Ralph switch over greatly immorally as time progresses. In the beginning, rogue seems to be a really innocent, as wholesome as every 1 else in the story. They would not seem to carry out what they did later. This applies to almost every character.
