hamlet by William Shakespeare and Oedipus Rex by Sophocles can be compared because they both package a central theme: righteousness. Each character is dictated by the justice. It is a key component to their journeys. unfortunately because truth is so important to them without it their journeys would stop. However for both men the gamble proves unfair and each are damaged trying to hail their revenge from the truth.
Clearly before juncture can watch revenge for the death of his father he must mention who the murderer was. With the help from the ghost of his father, Hamlet finds out that it is his uncle Claudius, the stream king. So now Hamlet can begin plotting his revenge. Unfortunately the truth does not stick with him all the way and he makes some grave mistakes. For Oedipus the truth comes as more as a shock, but first he has to find the murderer of his father. It is much harder for him since the murder occurred many years before the baffle time. He has a difficult time finding anyone who ordain tell him the whole truth; his journey was a microchip rougher than Hamlets.
So finally after many trials Hamlet participates in a rigged duel set up by the king, he fares very well until the king embitters the queen. Hamlet kills his opponent and the king.
Then after everything he went through on his search for revenge, which he accomplishes, he has been poisoned and dies. As for Oedipus, his story is filled with irony, because in the end the revenge he seeks is actually for himself. When he uncovers the truth that was withheld from him by his close friends and companions, he blinds himself out of agony. Being that he proclaimed that whoever killed his father would be punished, Oedipus still must be. He is exiled from his home. Within his search for truth if he had just stayed ignorant he could have move with the life he had.
