Paul idolise
A simple definition of the word propaganda is to pull strings the public opinion in a biased or misleading way, usually to promote a political hasten or point of view. According to Paul Reveres painting of the Boston Massacre, the actual event in 1770 was a slaughter, with Ameri kittys having no ability to defend themselves. The British appear to shake simply fired on the crowd without provocation and in an orderly fashion. They are portrayed to be tyrannical monsters that would push down without reason. In reports from the trial of the eight soldiers however, we learn that the massacre was chaos. The crowds taunted the soldiers and were fortify with clubs. In the words of the Captain, they shouted out horrid remarks, rag the soldiers to fire repeatedly. John Adams defended the soldiers stating that between the large amounts of ice beingness thrown at the soldiers and how the crowd was armed, it is easy to argue that the soldiers feared for their lives and as such it was self-defense to open fire on the crowd. This is frequently viewed as one of the major events leading up to the American Revolution.
The two descriptions of the event were very contradicting. In the end, I desire that Paul Reveres painting was propaganda.
Revolutionaries were seeking whatever reason in which to separate themselves from England. As such, Paul Revere was biased in his painting, and from the two contradictory accounts of the event, one can draw the conclusion that he was seeking to incite the colonists against the British. In so sparking the crowds against the British, ideas were spread of a revolution, an independent America, and a looking at of Liberty. This is often viewed as one of the major events leading up to the American Revolution.
