When dealing with the issue of tourism, what immediately comes to mind is the idea of people see a particular place for various kinds of activities such as sightseeing, visiting friends and relatives, vacation, having a good time, business, professional activity, educational and research studies. Tourism involves the use of various forms of transport such as hiking, air travel, bike, car and horseback. It is also composed of various groups that get into in the industry which include; tourists, businesses providing services and goods to the tourist, the government of the forces community and the host community itself.[1] In this respect tourism is fundamentally based on the following elements; tourist(s), attractions, travel, motives and time. The task of the undertake is to define what tourism is and simultaneously identify and briefly describe five types of tourism.
The analyse will be organized into third parts which the first will give a brief historical development of tourism. The second part will gift and appreciate the problematique associated with defining the concept tourism whilst providing the accepted rendering of the concept from the World Tourism Organization. Finally, the third part of the essay will briefly describe; Adventure Tourism, Food Tourism, wine Tourism and Water-Based Tourism as types of tourism.
