Diego Rivera
Diego Rivera was a painter  innate(p) in Guanajuato, Guanajuato and was a key player in  portion establish the Mexican Mural Renaissance. He began drawing when he was only just three years old, and just a year after his twin brothers death. He had been caught drawing on the walls frequently. His parents, rather than punishing him, decided to install chalkboards and canvas on the walls for the young painter to make use.  In 1896, Diego began attending level off classes at the San Carlos Academy of Art. Two years after that, he enrolled at the Academy full-time, despite his fathers wishes, he wanted a military career for his son. Diego was famous for his fantastic wall works. In 1907 Rivera went to Madrid, Spain, and he worked in the studio of Eduardo Chicharro. Then in 1909 he moved to Paris, France. In Paris he was influenced by impressionistic painters, particularly Pierre-Auguste Renoir. He painted murals in Mexico City, Chapingo, Cuernavaca, San Francisco, Detroit, and New York City. Rivera was a fervent Communist and his views made the citizens of cities in the United States shady of him. When Rivera did arrive in Detroit, it was not to paint Communist propaganda. Diego Rivera was influenced by Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, and Paul Cézanne in particular. His art tells us stories, which makes it similar to art made by the Mayans. Rivera had radical beliefs even for a communist and made frequent attacks on the church, as well as the clergy.Rivera was an atheist. His mural Dreams of a Sunday in the Alameda depicted Ignacio RamÃrez holding a sign which read, matinee idol does not exist. This work caused a furor, but Rivera refused to study the inscription. The painting was not shown for 9 years after Rivera concur to remove the inscription.
