One of the pieces I viewed was titled Broadway, and it was finished in the year 1986. This was oil on canvas painting. The painting looked like a bunch of shapes layered, one atop an otherwise. at that place was a lot of overlapping in this piece. Also, I discover the character of complimentary colors, green and red along with obscure and orange. Conger apply varying shapes in this piece. There were dozens of organic and geometric shapes. In this piece, there was no negatively charged space. The use of shading created a sort of three dimensional feeling, making some of the shapes seem closer to the viewers eye. The shading also gave the piece value. I felt that the painting itself was very well balanced on each side. flavor at it more closely, it seemed as if I was looking through shrubbery or bushes which were being pushed around by a raspy wind. The background seemed to be like a horizon occupation above the ocean because of the dark colors used. Conger used both dark and light colors. The darker colors were used in the background whereas the lighter colors were in the foreground.
When I looked at the foreground, I got a cheery mood, but the background first base that into a saddened feeling.
Another piece I looked at enchantment at the exhibit was titled Make Believe. This, too, was oil on canvas. This was done in 1964. There were a lot of sharp colors used in this one. Again, complementary colors were used. This time, empurple and yellow were used tom make each other stand out more. The purple is layer across the yellow. orangish and blue were also used. There was a wide use of geometric shapes.
